Rand Paul: Hillary Clinton 'Needs to Be Deposed Again' to Explain Benghazi

CNSNews.com) - Sen. Rand Paul, who famously tangled with then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at a January Senate hearing on the terror attack in Benghazi, says it's time to bring her back before Congress to answer more questions about the terror attack.
"See, the thing is, I think she needs to be deposed again," Paul told Fox News on Tuesday.
His comments came one day after former U.S. Attorney Joe DiGenova told a Washington radio station that the real scandal in Benghazi is the theft of 400 surface-to-air missiles by some "very ugly people." The Obama administration fears those missiles will be used to shoot down an airplane or blow up one of our embassies, he said.
"I'm concerned about surface-to-air missiles, obviously, being in the hands of Islamic radicals," Paul said, "but I'm also concerned -- was Hillary Clinton telling the truth, or was she simply saying, 'Well, maybe it's classified, maybe I won't tell the truth.'
"I don't think our public officials should come before committee and not tell the truth," Paul said.
The Kentucky Republican noted that the New York Times has reported that Hillary strongly advocated arming the Syrian rebels, and the newspaper also has reported that the CIA was involved in procuring arms for those rebels.
"What was the CIA annex doing there (in Benghazi)?" Paul asked. "Why have we had no discussion of that so far?"
Paul said he has asked Rep. Darrell Issa, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, to have Clinton brought back to answer more questions, "and I hope Chairman Issa will bring her back.
"She needs to testify under oath, did she know about this? And did it have anything to do with the misdirection campaign (blaming the Benghazi attack on an obscure video), and did she have anything to do with not allowing the Marines to go aid their wounded brothers over there in Benghazi?"
Asked if Clinton was telling the truth, Paul said he doesn't know.
But he said he does believe that Clinton's "decision-making process with regard to Benghazi" should preclude her from becoming president.
"It's not so much what happened at the time of the attacks," Paul said. "For six months leading up the attacks, they asked and they asked and they pleaded for more security, and she says, 'Oh, I never read the cables.' The problem with that is -- is that that's her job."
When Clinton testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on January 23, Sen. Paul specifically her, "Is the U.S. involved with any procuring of weapons, transfer of weapons...to Turkey out of Libya?"
"To Turkey?" Clinton said incredulously. "I will have to take that question for the record. Nobody's ever raised that with me," she said.
Paul continued: "It's been in news reports that ships have been leaving from Libya, and that they may have weapons. And what I'd like to know is the annex that was close by -- were they involved with procuring, buying, selling, obtaining weapons, and were any of these weapons being transferred to other countries, any countries, Turkey included?"
Clinton said Paul would have to "direct that question to the agency that ran the annex."
